So this happened and we might as well shout about it... In a small business it can be difficult to really drive CSR and charity support - it's hard to find the time, the people, the resources on all sorts of levels. So we simply do what we can with what we've got. Since 2022 our chosen charities have been St Ann's Hospice and The Hannah Whitley Foundation - two organisations close to our hearts and providing exceptional service and support to our local community! Aside from giving our team an extra day off each year to do voluntary work in their community, one of the easiest ways we have found to ensure regular donations is through payroll giving... Our team members simply donate a small amount of their salary - usually £5-10 per month to one or both of these amazing charities. As it is effectively done through salary sacrifice it costs each individual less than it would to donate personally, as they save both income tax and National Insurance Contributions on the payment: WIN-WIN-WIN 🥳 We also make a donation to these charities at Christmas, in lieu of sending the usual card to clients and contact, and this year we were absolutely blown away when the lovely Gayle contacted us to say thank you and ask if she could pop over to our offices to present a cheque and take a photo. How could we refuse???
