Foreign tax really isn’t that difficult, with a bit of thought and a simple application of the facts. A non-resident EU national taxpayer recently contracted me about why the refund he was expecting was too low. A quick check of the facts and the double tax convention revealed that his current accountant had understated his UK refund by around £50,000.
