Where are meetings held?

The majority of our meetings are currently held online, using whichever video-call app you prefer such as Zoom or WhatsApp. Alternatively, if you would like to meet in-person you can come to the office or we can come to your home.

Who will be handling my matter?

Damian Gorman will handle your matter personally from the beginning to the end. You will deal with the same person at every stage of the matter and will never have to speak to a call centre. Damian is an experienced former solicitor who worked at a national firm of Top 100 solicitors in Exeter and has over 15 years of experience in the legal sector so you can be assured that you will receive the highest level of advice. Power of Attorney and your Business If you ever become unavailable to run your own business for any reason, then your family and/or friends have NO automatic legal right to act upon your behalf instead. Likewise, for business partners and employees unless there is a legally valid business agreement in place which confirms that your business partners and/or employees can legally act upon your behalf. You can put a business LPA in place should you subsequently become unable to make decisions due to occurrences such as unavailability, holidays, illness, accident, or a loss of mental capacity. The power vested in your chosen attorney(s) would allow them to continue to run your business, pay salaries to staff, sign cheques, access the business bank account(s) and service other ongoing business obligations. HOWEVER, NO ATTORNEY HAS ANY POWER WHILST YOU MAINTAIN YOUR MENTAL CAPACITY. If you own a business and then lose your mental capacity without an LPA in place, it is likely that the bank will freeze your business account(s) as a security measure. This could prove extremely detrimental for your business. It also means that the only way forward would be for someone to make an application to the Court of Protection on your behalf and apply for a Deputyship Order (limited powers to make some decisions for you). This can take several months, can be very expensive, and offers no guarantee of success. In the meantime, nobody can make business decisions in your place.
