We distract ourselves with other stuff that we tell ourselves is more important (which it isn't) or we delude ourselves by doing stuff that's easier or less painful even though we know we should be getting on with more productive things. The trouble is, the storm is faster than the cow and sooner or later the cow enters the storm. All that angst and effort to get away from it and it failed anyway. The buffalo on the other had runs in the direction of the storm. It tackles it head on and gets through the hard bit much quicker. So we have two choices: avoid the pain now but we'll meet it some time later or take the pain now to avoid it later. Worth thinking about eh?!
