In 2018 we lost an excellent man and a fellow ActionCOACH to a brain tumour. His name was Kent Rhodes and he was a very strong-minded, straight-talking South African with a hugely positive attitude. In 2019 Andrew Kureishy High Performance Business Coach and Marc Eccles came up with the idea to celebrate Kent in the most fitting of ways....to hold an annual Kent Rhodes Challenge which gathers our community of coaches together to take on a physical challenge and to raise money for Children With Cancer. The challenges so far have raised circa £60k and this weekend we competed a 20 mile hike in the Peak District. That's 53,596 steps according to my watch!!! I can't think of a better way to honour Kent than to participate in this event each year....and what made it all the more special this year is that Kent's mum came all the way over from South Africa to help out by pouring teas and looking after us at the mobile tuck shop that always seemed to be in the right place at the right time! This year more that ever I've been on a mission to raise lots of money for lots of different charities...prompted by the loss of my dad last year and so as much as I wouldn't normally choose to hold out the "begging bowl" as regularly as this, I'm putting the post out there in case anyone has a spare fiver they might want to throw in the direction of this fabulous charity.
