This is a daily problem for some of our grousemoor keepers, perfectly legal traps being vandalised. The people who do this are no doubt the people who enjoy the moors and their vast wildlife the most, however even though I'm sure there intentions are thought to be good they couldn't be more wrong. To see all these ground nesting red and amber listed birds lapwing, curlew, skylark, snipe the list goes on they need to be protected. They are not struggling because they have been over shot despite what some might say, they are struggling due to over grazing, disturbance to nest sights from people's dogs and mainly from ground predators such as rats, weasels, stoats, feral ferrets and mink.
